Rayne came out alone, without the rest of the Beautiful People. Madison Rayne got on the mic before the bell, and said she wanted Roxxi to explain how she could “pop in and out of the company whenever she felt like it” while the Beautiful People were dominating. Rayne said this time she “popped in and was handed a title shot”. Rayne said she is putting everything on the line tonight, while Roxxi is putting up nothing. Rayne said Roxxi should put up the same thing that Tara did, her career. Rayne badgered her into agreeing, and just as she did, Rayne hit her in the head with the microphone.
Rayne called for the bell and covered Roxxi, but she kicked out at two. Roxxi was busted open from the microphone shot. Roxxi hit some shots, but was knocked to the floor by Rayne. Roxxi was quickly becoming a bloody mess. Roxxi got on the apron and shoulderblocked Rayne, then rammed her into the turnbuckles. Roxxi went to climb the ropes, but Rayne yanked her into the ring and got a near fall. Rayne put Roxxi in an armbar, but Roxxi fought out of it. Roxxi hit an enzugiri, then a series of forearms. Roxxi hit a running elbow and a kick to the chest, then a fallaway slam. Roxxi hit a spinebuster for a two count. Rayne reversed an armbar and went for her finisher, but Roxxi blocked it and hit the hammerlock spinebuster. Rayne rolled to the floor. Roxxi went outside, tossed Rayne back in. As Roxxi was getting back in, Rayne kicked her and hit her neckbreaker on the knee for the win at the five minute mark.
Winner: Madison Rayne.
Madison waved goodbye to Roxxi, and yelled for her to get out of here. Roxxi, a bloody mess, looked despondent, then waved to the crowd and left.
Although the match was cut from USA’s iMPACT! broadcast, Nikki’s tag match with Rosey Lottalove against The Beautiful People was shown in England and Australia. We have gotten a hold of the match via Youtube, and have capped it for your viewing pleasure. TNAWrestling.com has also added 3 digitals of Nikki from the match. Be sure to check out all the photos in our gallery now and watch the match below!
We go backstage to Christy with Roxxi, who scored a non-title win over Madison Rayne last week. Roxxi is excited to be back, but it’s a little familiar because she was back on New Year’s Eve but she broke her ankle. But now she’s back and she’s ready for whatever TNA has for her. Christy gives her the good news that because she beat Madison Rayne last week, she’s going to challenge Madison for the Knockouts Title at Slammiversary.
Before the match, we take a look back to New Year’s Eve when Roxxi suffered a broken ankle against Hamada. This bout is non-title. Mike brings up the history between Roxxi and the Beautiful People as Roxxi gets a series of rollups for 2 counts, then whips Madison into the corner and follows in with a charge. Roxxi misses a second charge, so Madison nails her from behind and hits a running kick to the midsection of Roxxi for 2. Madison hits the chinlock, but turns it into a face gouge, then does it again. Madison covers Roxxi for 2, then chokes her on the ropes, kicks her, then chokes her on the ropes again. Madison with…that’s right, another kick, and that only gets 2. Roxxi suddenly gets the Voodoo Crush out of nowhere and scores the upset pin.
FK9 has just sent in the following to Kristine and myself regarding the interview with Nikki that was supposed to take place tonight:
Looks like that Nikki interview tonight is off. The host got in touch with me and it turns out she wasn’t available when the show is usually recorded. They rescheduled the interview for Wednesday, but she couldn’t call in for some reason. If/when the interview happens I’ll let you know.
